Wrap up of the US Midterm elections
- So CNN got a load of bloggers in a cafe, from the left and the right and broadcast snippets from there during it’s election night coverage. I think the jury is out on whether the bloggers enjoyed it or indeed got any blogging done, and you know the thought struck me that maybe CNN wanted to keep bloggers from blogging last night so that people would watch the TV.
- One of the most anti-gay members of the US senate lost his seat last night
We are thrilled, ecstatic and overjoyed that Rick Santorum has been thrashed at the polls. His extreme and gratuitous homophobia will no longer pollute the Senate. Good riddance.”
— Matt Foreman, Executive Director, National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, Inc.
And what did Rick do to deserve this venemous obit? Apart from many activists thinking he was the biggest homophobe in the US Senate, it seems Rick spent a lot of time being fascinated with buggery and comparing conseunsual homosexuality to bestiality and other forms of abuse.
“If the Supreme Court says that you have the right to consensual (gay) sex within your home, then you have the right to bigamy, you have the right to polygamy, you have the right to incest, you have the right to adultery. You have the right to anything,” Santorum said in the AP interview.Every society in the history of man has upheld the institution of marriage as a bond between a man and a woman. Why? Because society is based on one thing: that society is based on the future of the society. And that’s what? Children. Monogamous relationships. In every society, the definition of marriage has not ever to my knowledge included homosexuality. That’s not to pick on homosexuality. It’s not, you know, man on child, man on dog, or whatever the case may be. It is one thing. And when you destroy that you have a dramatic impact on the quality —
Charming. Also out of a job is Rick’s Director of Communications – another one of those gay republicans that have been outed in recent years. From this site maybe he is already job hunting? But that’s a subject for another blog.
