Not that I think many are interested in the future of Fianna Fáil at the moment but a few weeks ago I heard about the meeting of FF activists interested in rebuilding the party.
Led by Jerry Beades, a member of the FF National Executive, it was disclosed on RTE yesterday that they intend to go ahead and bring together a grouping of people to reform the party. A website is mentioned as being in development. (Beades was also in the news yesterday for other reasons.)
In reaction to this news, Stephen Kearon, staunch FF loyalist, uber texter into radio programmes, former local election candidate and former adviser to Dick Roche registered the url www.fiannafailnua.com. This site redirects to the official party website.
Isn’t is grand for them buying websites while the country ‘burns’. Jerry Beades is being called a canard teller there by Stephen Kearon mind you. So we’ll see the official FFNua website soon enough I suppose.
(Canard – the word FF ministers use when they want to say people other than themselves are telling lies or mistruths. )
