Foodie Bits and pieces
- The Times reports on a shortage of lentils and dhal as India bans exports. It seems some bright spark decided to list dhal on the Indian stock exchange coupled with drought and thus creating a shortage of the pulses.
- I have not yet figured out how to put Youtube clips into a wordpress blog (all hints and tips welcome in comments!) But for a 26 year old clip of Kate Bush explaining vegetarian food to Delia Smith on her first Cookery course click here!
- Last nights food debate on the Late Late Show did not achieve anything. Richard Corrigan was more pompous than ever. Mairead McGuinness whined about farmers and how great they are without really taking on the issues of food quality, supermarket dominance and consumer choice which Richard was making badly, and Derek Davis was the only contributor who made the audience think.
