Cillian Murphy has not been home to Ireland since last July according to an interview I heard with him last week. But Rock the Vote have him signed up to help get the vote out. I love the wording in the rehash of the press release – to be launched Next April – ah yes that’s the next April that’s 10 days away – to launch a major campaign to mobilise the youth vote for the General Election. That’s the General Election that’s happening in oh about 8 weeks time or less.

But wait they are not launching till April 7 – so we’ve had 3 launch dates for this thing – the 2nd, (cos the 1st would be a little April Foolsesque), the 8th and now the 7th.

And by the way Rocking the Vote in Ireland is a franchise of the American Operation.

Speaking on the announcement of the partnership, Hans Riemer, political director in the United States, said: “Rock the Vote has inspired millions of young people to participate not only in the US but around the world. We are excited to launch our new licensed partnership in Ireland. We think they’re going to be a big hit.”
